Mrs. Ida Whitman’s Services Wednesday
Estherville – Services for Mrs. Ida Belle Whitman, Estherville, who passed away Sunday [August 18, 1974] at Holy Family Hospital, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Henry Funeral Home. Max Goldman of the United Methodist Church will conduct the services, with internment at the Dolliver cemetery.

Mrs. Whitman was born July 29, 1882 at Wager, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Mary McCormick Wilhelm. She married William Whitman March 4, 1902 at Throll. They moved to Emmet County in 1908 where Mr. Whitman farmed near Dolliver. In 1914, the Whitmans moved to Estherville where they have made their home ever since. Mrs. Whitman was a member of the Methodist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Fern Hensick, Dolliver, Mrs. Don Holl, Fairmont, Mrs. Helen Ryan, Hastings, Neb., and Mrs. Marvin (Harriet) Miller, Dolliver; 21 grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Wilhelm was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, two sons and three great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Henry Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Tuesday. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 19, 1974)

Note: according to 1925 census, Ida’s parents were Henry Wilhelm and Terresa Null. Per Iowa marriage records, she married William H. Whitman March 4, 1902 at Eagle Grove, Wright County, IA
