ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Marian L. Hartman, 93, of Estherville will be held 1 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Tim Vaughan and Diane Harper officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home only on Friday. Interment will be at Lincoln Township Cemetery at Dolliver.

She died Saturday, March 20, 2010, at Rosewood Manor Nursing Home in Estherville.

Marian L. Hartman, the daughter of Frank and Buelah (Lambert) Hartman, was born April 16, 1916, in Crooks, S.D.

She received her education in the South Dakota and Iowa schools.

Marian was employed for the Glenn L. Martin Company in Omaha, Neb., which specialized in defense work. Later she was employed with the Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company. Then until her retirement she was employed at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville for 20 years as a switchboard operator. In her leisure time she enjoyed quilting, reading, fishing and antiquing/rummage sales. Marian was a master quilter and was well known in the area for her quilting abilities. She also wrote a book on folk art quilting.

Left to cherish Marian's memory are many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Preceding Marian in death were her parents, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 24, 2010)
