Mrs. Rachel Griffith Dies At Hospital
Mrs. Rachel [Harriet] Griffith, 58, died at 9 p.m. yesterday at Holy Family hospital, where she had been treated for the past six weeks.

Mrs. Griffith was born July 14, 1895, in Dows in Wright county. She moved with her parents to the Dolliver area in about 1910. On Feb. 14, 1917, she married Harry Griffith and the couple farmed near Dolliver, where he husband died 1936. Mrs. Griffith was living on the farm when she entered the hospital.

Surviving her death are her son, Robert of Dolliver; two sisters, Mrs. Ole Knutson of Dolliver and Mrs. Emmet Trees of Armstrong; brother, Kenneth Paulson of Minneapolis; her parents, Mrs. and Mrs. Melvin Peterson of Dolliver and an uncle, Arne Peterson of Dolliver.

Funeral services have not been set as yet and will be announced in tomorrow’s Daily News. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 7, 1953)

Griffith Rites Thursday
Funeral services for Mrs. Rachel Griffith, 58, of Dolliver, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Sternborg funeral home and at 2:15 p.m. at the Dolliver Methodist church. Burial will be in Dolliver. Mrs. Griffith died at 9 p.m. Sunday at Holy Family hospital. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 8, 1953)
