Graettinger – Funeral services for Dale A. [Alvin] Frerichs, 38, of Graettinger will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 2, 2001 at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Matthew Boedecker officiating. Interment will be held at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver. He died on Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 at his home in Graettinger.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001 at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

He was born on Feb. 22, 1962 in Estherville, the son of John and Betty (Yeager) Frerichs. His father died in 1964, but the family continued to live on their farm in Dolliver for the next five years and then briefly in Estherville. They later moved back to the Dolliver area and he graduated from Lincoln Central High School in 1980.

He worked for his step-father, Richard Holl and then moved to Fairmont, Minn. In 1983, he moved to Florida. He returned to Estherville in 1989 and did construction work until 1993, when he purchased the Dolliver Café. In 1996, he also purchased a café and bar in Graettinger and operated both businesses until the time of his death.

He is survived by his mother, Betty Holl of Spirit Lake; three brothers, David and his wife, Deena of Ceylon, Minn., Dan of Spirit Lake and Daryl and his wife, Diane of Estherville; four step-sisters; many nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his brother, father and step-father. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 31, 2001)
