Estherville – Services for Anna Evans, 91, of Armstrong, will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Estherville with Dr. John Besore III officiating. Interment will be in Lincoln Township Cemetery, rural Dolliver. She died Monday [June 14, 1993] at Valley Vue Care Center at Armstrong.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville from 4-8 p.m. Thursday.

She was born Oct. 26, 1902 at Dyke [Dike], the daughter of Martin and Marie (Nielsen) Balmer and moved to the Dolliver area at a young age. She attended country school and Dolliver School. On Sept. 27, 1921 she married Edward Evans at Fairmont, Minn. The couple farmed in the Dolliver and Armstrong area many years. She moved to Estherville in 1960 where she lived until moving to Armstrong in 1988. She moved to the Care Center in February, 1993. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Estherville and the Presbyterian Major Agers.

Survivors include a son Laurence of Armstrong; daughters: Joyce Putney, Algona; Mrs. Jerry (Lillian) Mullowany, Minneapolis and Mrs. David (Doris) Norman, North Branch, Minn.; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-children.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1960; one granddaughter; parents; three brothers and three sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, June 16, 1993)
