Estherville – Funeral services for Emma “Mae” Evans, 96, of Estherville will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, Mar. 20 at the United Methodist Church in Dolliver with the Reverend Dan Miller officiating. Interment will be held at Lincoln Township Cemetery in Dolliver. She died on Thursday, Mar. 16 at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Sunday, Mar. 19 at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born on October 18, 1903 in Pleasant Plaines, Ill. the daughter of Henry and Emelia (Deppe) Kleen. She received her education in the Dolliver schools, graduating from Dolliver High School in 1923.

On Sept. 5, 1928 she was united in marriage to Floyd Evans in Martin County, Minn. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in northwest Dolliver on a farm. She was a homemaker and also assisted her husband with the operation of their farm.

She enjoyed gardening, flowers and embroidering.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Dolliver. She also was a past member of a Ladies Aid Club and a neighborhood club.

She is survived by three daughters, Donna Mayne of Armstrong, Jean Manson and her husband, John of Ringsted and Faye Egerstrom and her husband, Daryl of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; four sons, Bob Evans of Dolliver, Dale Evans and his wife, Marian of Emmetsburg, Warren Evans and his wife, Pat of Estherville and Larry Evans and his wife, Nancy of Ceylon, Minn.; 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, four brothers and one son-in-law. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 18, 2000)
