Farmer of Dolliver Dies
Floyd Evans, 61, lifetime farmer of the Dolliver community, died at 1:30 a.m. today at Holy Family hospital. Mr. Evans had been suffering from uremia (failure of the kidneys) for the past two or three weeks and had been hospitalized since July 8.Mr. Evans, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Elman L. Evans of Dolliver, was born May 8, 1895. At an early age he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mae Kleen, and their seven children, Robert, Emajean, Fay Ann, Warren, Larry, Dahl, and Mrs. Orville (Donna) Wayne; two brothers, Raymond of Estherville and Edward of the Armstrong community; two sisters, Mrs. Lee Miller of Dolliver and Mrs. Bessie Miller of Ringsted.
Also surviving is his mother, Mrs. E.M. Evans of Dolliver and [line missing?] died in 1917.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Methodist church in Dolliver, the Reverends B.A. Wendtland and Don Glazier officiating. Burial will be in the Dolliver cemetery.
Friends may call at Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home until Wednesday morning at which time the body will be taken to the Evans home at Dollliver and from there to the church at 2 p.m. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 16, 1956)
