Estherville – Services for Ruth C. [Cordelia] Eggers, 92, of Estherville, formerly of Dolliver, will be held at 1:30 Monday at the United Methodist Church in Ceylon, Minn. Interment will follow the service in Lincoln Twp. Cemetery, rural Dolliver. She died Thursday, Feb. 25, 1999 at the Estherville Good Samaritan Center.

Visitation will be held at Olson Funeral Home in Ceylon on Sunday from 5-7 p.m. and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.

She was born Sept. 7, 1906 at Guthrie County, Iowa. She attended school in Guthrie County, graduating from high school in 1924. After attending State Teachers College in Cedar Falls, she taught country school in Guthrie County for six years.

March 6, 1937 she married John Eggers in Des Moines. They farmed near Panora, Dexter and Knoxville before coming to a farm in Emmet County in 1961. They retired from farming in 1970.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Ceylon and Past President of the United Methodist Women. She entered Good Samaritan in Estherville Sept. 30, 1993.

Survivors include a daughter-in-law Barbara Brown and her husband Eldon of Spirit Lake; four grandsons: David Eggers, Minneapolis, Michael Eggers, Wallingford, Rich Eggers, Dolliver, and Christopher Eggers of Whittemore; six great grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren, and others.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband on Aug. 26, 1988, a son and her twin sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 27, 1999)
