Howard Dies At Hospital
Ralph Howard, 74, died yesterday about 7 p.m. in the Veterans Hospital at Sioux Falls, where he had been a patient for some time. His death was attributed to a heart attack.Ralph Waldo Howard was born June 11, 1891, in southern Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Howard. He had lived in Emmet County since 1919.
Mr. Howard was a veteran of World War I, several months of that time having been spent overseas.
In 1948 he was married to Mabel Ingvall.
He is survived by his widow, who now is a resident of the Good Samaritan Home; two brothers, Ira of Portland, Ore., and Albert of Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Lorena Heiter of Portland, Ore.; a nephew, Walter Howard of Estherville; and a niece, Mrs. Melvin Kritelow of Meservey.
Funeral services are to be Monday at 2 p.m. in Calvary Baptist Church, Rev. Denzil Neumann officiating. Burial will be in the East Side Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home all day Sunday and until noon Monday, at which time the body will be taken to the church where friends may call until time of service.
Military graveside services will be conducted by veterans of the WWI, VFW and American Legion. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 9, 1965)
