Obituary of John C. Olson
John C. Olson was born in Kivenherd, Norway, Dec. 11th, 1859. At the age of 11 he came with his parents to this country settling in Clinton co., Iowa. In 1885 he was married to Elizabeth Haustad, who died in 1889, leaving 2 children, Ole J. Olson and Miss Anna Boyd, both of Plankington, So. Dak. In 1892 he was married to Ingeborg Johnson, to this marriage were born 15 children all of whom are living and were at his bedside at the last. In 1892 he moved to Webster Co., and eleven years later to the home where he died, 2 ½ miles north of Estherville. He leaves besides his wife and children, one brother, Ole Olson of Vincent, Ia., one sister, Mrs. K. Elding of Madison, Wisc., and three grand children. Funeral services were held at home of the deceased, August 6th at 10 o’clock a.m. Rev. Hanson of Wallingford, Ia., conducting the services music was furnished by a mixed quartette from Estherville.
