John L. Osgood Dead
John Louis Osgood died at his home in Iowa Lake township Saturday morning, August 3d at 8:15 after a short illness.

Deceased was taken sick about a week about a week ago with a stroke that resembled apoplexy. He partially rallied but gradually failed and the end came peacefully at the hour above stated. The remains were taken to Marsaille, Ills. Monday, to the old home where they will repose.

He was surrounded by his family at the time of his death.

John Louis Osgood was born in Marseilles, Ill. Aug. 10th, 1880. His parents were Simon Toll Osgood and Louise Gage Osgood. He lived he years of his childhood and early manhood in his native town, receiving his education in the public schools of that city, graduating in 1898, pursuing thereafter a course of study for some terms at the Morgan Park Academy, Morgan Park, Ill.

He was converted in early years and was baptized into fellowship with the First Baptist church of Marseilles, continuing a member with them until his death.

He was united in marriage with Ivy P. Deming, April 22nd, 1903 and began his home life with his wife on the farm in Iowa Lake township four years ago in May. A son and daughter came to bless and make sacred their home and conjugal ties, these happy years so soon cut off.
