Thomas B. Thompson Dead
Thomas B. Thompson died at the home of his brother, Ben B. Thompson, Thursday, August 1st of paralysis. Mr. Thompson suffered a slight stroke of paralysis last winter, while making his home with Nels Hagen, in Ellsworth township, but recovered partially and came to Estherville to live with his brother. He was able to be about the house most of the time, until a week ago, when he had a second stroke. He was 61 years old and came to Emmet county about twelve years ago.

The funeral was held from the B.B. Thompson residence conducted by Rev. Cole of the M.E. church, and the remains interred in Scandinavian [Norwegian] Lutheran cemetery north of town. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, August 7, 1907)

Thomas B. Thompson died Thursday at the home of his brother, Benj. B. Thompson on West Lincoln street. He suffered a stroke of paralysis last December and a second stroke on Monday of last week.

He was born in Norway sixty-one years ago and came with his parents to America in his sixth year. They first settled at Lisbon, Illinois, moving to Story county, Iowa, a year later. The decedent came to Emmet county twenty years ago and has since made his home in this city and in the Dolliver neighborhood.

His parents have been dead several years but he is survived by four brothers – Benjamin of Estherville, Knute B. of Slater, Thores of Lisbon, Illinois, and Zach of Council Bluffs, and two sisters – Mrs. Caroline Weeks of Lisbon, Illinois and Mrs. Celia Thompson of Utsalady, Washington.

The funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the Thompson home on West Lincoln street, conducted by Rev. T.S. Cole of the Methodist Episcopal church. The remains were interred in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery.

He was an agreeable gentleman and will be missed by his countrymen and other friends in this community. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, August 7, 1907)
