Estherville – Graveside service for Gladys Lumsden, 88, will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at Estherville Lutheran Cemetery [Norwegian], rural Estherville. She died Friday, April 8, 1994 at Iowa City Care Center.

Funeral service will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Iowa City with the Rev. Roy Nilson officiating.

She was born April 18, 1905 in Martin County, Minn., the daughter of Sam and Anna (Burtness) Larson. She attended grade school in Minnesota and high school in Estherville. She received her BA and MA degrees from the University of Iowa. She was secretary and security officer at Zion Lutheran Church many years. She married Ray Lumsden June 7, 1942.

Survivors include a niece, Ardis Pilquist and nephew, Maurice Larson both of Estherville.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a nephew. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 9, 1994)
