Mrs. R.B. Callwell is very low and is slowly and surely approaching death’s door. She has been unconscious for several days and her death may be expected any moment. (Semi-weekly Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, November 24, 1896)

Died – Mrs. R.B. Callwell died at her home in the north part of town Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Mrs. Callwell had been suffering for some time with a cancer. Her son Ralph Tebbitt [Tibbetts] arrived here from Wells, Minn., shortly after her death. Her remains will be taken to Cedar Falls for burial. Services will be held at the home on Wednesday at 7 p.m. (Estherville Democrat, Estherville, IA, November 25, 1896)

Mrs. R.B. Callwell died Tuesday [November 24, 1896] morning at 10:30 after many months of severe suffering with cancer. Funeral services were held at the home at 7:00 o’clock Wednesday evening, conducted by Rev. Talbot of the Episcopal church. The remains were taken on the 8:15 train the same evening to Cedar Falls, where they were interred. Mrs. Callwell was a native of England and came to America with her first husband, H.R. Tibbetts, in 1873. They resided at Decorah and Cedar Falls. Mr. Tibbets having previously died, Mrs. Tibbets was married in 1891 in R--- [remainder unreadable.] (Semi-weekly Northern Vindicator, Estherville, IA, November 27, 1896)

Mrs. R.B. Callwell died at her home in this city, Tuesday Nov. 24th, at 10:30 a.m. after many a painful suffering from cancer. Funeral services were held at the residence, Wednesday at 7 o’clock p.m. conducted by Rev. Talbot of the Episcopal church and her remains were taken to Cedar Falls for interment. Mrs. Callwell was a native of England and came to this country in 1873 with her first husband, Mr. Tibbetts, who died at Cedar Falls a few years after their location there. She was married to Mr. Callwell in 1891 and since that time has resided in Estherville. For the past two years she has been in almost constant pain from the dreaded disease which she bore with patience and true Christian fortitude. She was a lady of intelligence and culture and leaves numerous friends behind who share the sorrow of the husband and four children of the departed one and the community at large offers their sincere sympathy.
