John M. Johnson Dead
John M. [H.] Johnson, son of Mr. Henry Johnson of this city, died at the family home on North 10th street, Sunday morning, Sept. 16th at 9:00 o’clock. Deceased was born in Polk county, Iowa, on Jan. 1st, 1870, and came to this county with his parents 25 years ago, and was a resident of Ellsworth township until about a year ago when the family moved to Estherville. He had been in poor health for some little time but was only confined to his bed for a week or ten days before his death. He was a single man and lived at the family home. Tuberculosis was the cause of his death. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, September 91, 1906)

John H. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson, who reside in the northeast part of the city, died at the parental home on Saturday last of tubercular trouble of the lungs. Deceased was 36 years and had up to a short time ago been engaged on his father’s farm north of the city a few miles. The young man’s decline was very rapid. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon from the Norwegian church and was quite largely attended. The burial was in the Lutheran cemetery. He was a very worthy young man.
