Nora Vieve Bergeson
Nora Vieve Bergeson, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. H.O. Bergeson, was born in Terril, Ia., October 19, 1914. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She was confirmed by Rev. J. Hanson in 1928.

She lived in Terril until the family moved to a farm northeast of Wallingford in 1916.

She was united in marriage to Mr. Trygve Evenson on January 16, 1932. To this union one son was born. After her marriage she made her home in and near Estherville until two years ago when they moved to Plover, Iowa.

She has been in poor health for two years. On March 1, 1940, she was taken to Iowa City for treatment. She passed away in that city on May 3, 1940, at the age of 25 years, 6 months and 14 days.

She is preceded in death by her parents and by two brothers. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband and son, Reuben, two sisters, a half-sister and four brothers. They are the following: Mrs. George Richards, Mrs. Hans Lee and Miss Sadie Bergeson of Estherville; Leonard and Alfred of Plover, Iowa; Herbert and Charlie of Estherville.

The funeral was held on Monday, May 6th. A brief service was held at the Bergeson home in Estherville at 1:30 p.m. The service proper was conducted in the Wallingford Lutheran church at 2 p.m. Reverend Peder Nordsletten of the local church preached the sermon using Acts 16: 30-31 as the text. Mr. Fred Sternborg of Estherville directed the funeral. Interment was made in the Norwegian Lutheran cemetery located one mile north of Estherville.

A male quartette sang a number in the church and also a number at the grave. Mr. Allan Hersleff sang a solo during the service. The male quartet was composed of Ernest Skattebo, Glenn Groth, Allan Hersleff, and Sherman Gunderson. Mrs. Sherman Gunderson accompanied the singers and, too, was the pianist for the day.

The pallbearers were Sherman Gunderson, Trygve Larsen, Norman Larson, Nordein Peterson, Vernon Jansen and Theodore Nelson. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 9, 1940)
