Well Known Farmer Dies
A.C. Brusnvold, father of Deputy Treasurer, Lloyd Brunsvold, Passes
Alfred C. Brunsvold, life long resident of Emmet county, died suddenly yesterday afternoon at his farm home northeast of Estherville. Mr. Brunsvold had been in poor health for about a year. In the spring of 1938 he suffered a stroke and failed to recover fully from it.,

Born Nov. 26, 1880 on the farm of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ole Brunsvold, he grew to manhood in this community attending the rural schools. After his marriage he took up farming and remained in the same neighborhood.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at one o’clock from the home and at one-thirty from the Estherville Lutheran church. Rev. L.A. Mathre pastor of the church will be in charge.

Surviving Mr. Brunsvold’s early death are his devoted wife [Anna Sophia Stenberg] and two children, Lloyd Brunsvold, deputy county treasurer, and Miss Fern Brunsvold of Des Moines. There is one grandson.

The deceased man is widely known in Emmet county. He was quiet and unassuming in his work, concerned mainly with the welfare of his family and in maintaining his farm. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1939)

Funeral Rites Thursday for Mr. Brunsvold
Funeral services for A.C. Brunsvold, who died yesterday at his farm northeast of Estherville will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at the home and at 1:30 at the Estherville Lutheran church, with the Rev. L.A. Mathre officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran cemetery.

Several selections will be sung by a quartet during the funeral.

Mr. Brunsvold is survived by his widow; a son, Lloyd K. Brunsvold; and a daughter, Miss Fern Brunsvold of Des Moines; and one grandson. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 23, 1939)

A.C. Brunsvold, Pioneer, Died at Farm Home
Death came to A.C. [Alfred Cornelius] Brunsvold Monday noon at his home four miles northeast of this city. Mr. Brunsvold had been in failing health for over a year.

He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ole Brunsvold and was born and reared in this country. He was a hard worker and a good farmer. He was always interested in anything that was for the betterment of the community. His friends were numbered by his acquaintances. In every way he was a gentleman and a home lover.

He is survived by one son, Lloyd K. Brunsvold, our deputy treasurer, and one daughter, Miss Fern Brunsvold of Des Moines who arrived here after her father’s death.

Mr. Brunsvold was born Nov. 26, 1880 and has always been a resident of the county.

Funeral services were held this afternoon at one o’clock from the farm home and at 1:30 from the Estherville Lutheran church, the Rev. L.A. Mathre officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in the Norwegian cemetery north of the city. (Estherville Enterprise, Estherville, IA, May 25, 1939)
