Mrs. Carl Anderson Dies
Mrs. Carl Anderson, 84, passed away last night at 9:25 at her farm home northeast of Estherville after an illness of seven weeks. She has been a resident of this county for nearly 50 years and is well known in this community.

Funeral arrangements have not been made but it is expected that they will be held on Saturday afternoon at the Estherville Lutheran church with the Rev. L.A. Mathre in charge.

Anna Johnson was born April 10, 1852 in Sweden and came to Emmet county directly from that country in 1881. On March 23, 1881 she was united in marriage to Carl Anderson and they moved onto the farm where she died.

She is survived by four children Gust Anderson, Mrs. George Bartleman and Mrs. Henry Hoganson of Estherville and Mrs. Ralph Smith of Fairmont, Minn. She is preceded in death by her husband, who died in March, 1935, one son, Augustine, who died in 1921 and a daughter, who passed away at the age of two years. Mrs. Carl Anderson, 85 years old, a resident of Emmet county for more than half a century, died last night at her home northeast of Estherville following an illness of seven weeks.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed but the services will be held in the Lutheran church with the Rev. L.A. Mathre officiating. Interment will be made in the Norwegian cemetery north of Estherville.

Mrs. Anderson, a native of Sweden, is survived by three daughters and one son, her husband having died several years ago.

The daughters are Mrs. Henry Hoganson, Mrs. George Bartleman, Mrs. Ralph Smith, and the son, Gus Anderson, who lives on the farm northeast of here. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 7, 1937)

Rites For Mrs. Carl Anderson To Be Sunday
Funeral services for Mrs. Carl Anderson, 85, a pioneer resident of Emmet county, who died Wednesday night at her home northeast of here, will be held a 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the Mahlum and Anderson funeral home and at 2 p.m. at the Norwegian Lutheran church here.

Burial will be in the Norwegian cemetery north of Estherville. The Rev. L.A. Mathre will officiate at the services.

Mrs. Anderson is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Henry Hoganson, Mrs. George Bartleman, Mrs. Ralph Smith, and a son, Gus Anderson, who lives on a farm northeast of the city. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 8, 1937)
