Estherville – Services for Harold Sampson, 57, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Kroona officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Estherville Lutheran Church Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Monday after 3:00 p.m. Mr. Sampson died Saturday, August 26, 1989 at his home in Estherville.

Harold Edwin Sampson was born July 18, 1932 in Estherville to Ben and Clara Hanson Sampson. He attended Petersburg, Minn. school and graduated from Jackson, Minn. High School in 1950. On May 31, 1955 he married Marilyn Christianson in Petersburg, Minn. Mr. Sampson lived in the Estherville area most of his life. He was employed as a meat cutter from 1954 to 1956 and then by Pepsi Cola in Estherville. For the past twenty-eight years he has been employed by Frito Lay Company. Mr. Sampson was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife Marilyn of Estherville; three daughters, Mrs. Tom (Roxanne) Osher of Wallingford, Janet Houseman of Edwards Air Force Base, California, and Cindy Sampson of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two brothers: Ernest “Roy” Sampson of Des Moines and Marion Sampson of Jackson, Minn.; two sisters: Mrs. Mildred Fox of Estherville and Mrs. Betty Wellnitz of Estherville; and one grandchild, Ashley.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 28, 1989)
