Former Estherville Woman Succumbs; Rites Held Today
Estherville – Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. today, Dec. 2, at the Estherville Lutheran Church for Mrs. Pauline Fossell Savereide, 92, who died Thursday, Nov. 28, in Los Gatos, Calif., where she had been hospitalized during the month of November.

The Rev. Stanley Eybert officiated at the services and burial was held in the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery.

Mrs. Savereide was born Aug. 2, 1882, in Haugesund, Norway. She came to Forest City in 1903, where she worked as a pastry cook in a hotel. In 1906 she married Lars H. Savereide and the couple lived in Story City and Harlan before moving to Estherville in 1916. She was a member and active in the Estherville Lutheran Church.

In October, 1972, she moved to San Jose, Calif., where she lived with her two daughters.

Mrs. Savereide is survived by two sons, the Rev. C.F. Savereide, Hillsboro, S.D., and Arnold Savereide, Memphis, Tenn.; three daughters, Mrs. Harold (Thelma) Sieglaff, Akron, Mrs. A.W. (Louise) Hoy and Mrs. Gene Beckamn [Beckman], both of San Jose, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Charles (Anna) Wooster, Manning; two brothers, Gustav Fossell, Holstein, and one in Norway; one step-son, Judge Arthur Savereide, Harlan; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband on August 26, 1948. Henry Funeral Home in Estherville was in charge of services. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, December 2, 1974)
