Ex-resident of Estherville Dies at 67
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Estherville Lutheran Church for Alma Georgina Richard, 67, formerly of Estherville, who died this morning at the Hilltop Nursing Home, Spirit Lake.

Death was attributed to cancer. She had been in ill health for the past year.

Rev. Stephen Engelstad will officiate, with burial in the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Reese-Henry Funeral Home after 10 a.m. Thursday until noon Friday.

She was born March 9, 1901, at Terril to Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Bergeson. She received her education in Terril schools and was married June 28, 1922 to George Richard at Estherville.

The couple lived in Estherville and Wallingford areas until 1943.That year she moved to Des Moines where she resided until her illness a year ago. She returned to Estherville in November 1967 and had been under doctor’s care since.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Charlie (Maurine) Pinegar, Des Moines; four sons, LaVerne of Lake Park, Dale of Anchorage, Alaska, Merle, of Bettendorf and Duane of Milford; 16 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Lowe, Bettendorf, four brothers, Alfred of Plover, Herb of Estherville, Charlie of Terril and Leonard of Spencer.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one sister and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 9, 1968)
