ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Betty Myhre, 83, of Knoxville, Iowa, and formerly Estherville will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor David Christenson officiating. Interment will be at Estherville Lutheran Cemetery in Estherville.

She died Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at Westridge Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Betty (Moeller) Myhre, the daughter of Otto and Elsie Moeller, was born Feb. 14, 1929, in Royal.

Betty received her education in the Royal schools, graduating from Royal High School. Following graduation from high school Betty attended a beauty school in Sioux City. After completing beauty school, Betty was employed as a beautician in Spencer and Estherville.

On Feb. 13, 1955, she was united in marriage to Stanley Myhre in Royal. The couple moved to Royal and farmed for two years. In 1958, they moved back to Estherville and farmed southwest of Estherville. Stan died on May 25, 1999. In her leisure time Betty enjoyed flowers and gardening.

Betty was a lifelong member of the Estherville Lutheran Church where she was active in various circles.

Left to cherish Betty's memory are her children, Connie Brooks and her husband, Terry, of Melcher and Ronald Myhre and his wife, Paula, of Estherville; grandchildren, Ahern Brooks, Jason Brooks and his wife, Chantel, Amanda Goad and her husband, William, Jessica Tate and her husband, Kaylin; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn Goad, Brianna Goad and Gabriel Brooks; sister, Virginia Freeburg of Spencer; sister-in-law, Jean Myhre of Spirit Lake and nieces and nephews.
