Estherville – Funeral services for Stanley K. Myhre, 75, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 28, 1999, at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Arlyn Norris and Pastor Jane Johnston officiating. Interment will be held at Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. He died Tuesday, May 25 at Avera Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral home in Estherville.

He was born on Feb. 27, 1924, in rural Estherville, the son of Oscar Brunsvold and Agnes Kittelson Myhre, Sr. He began his education in the rural Emmet county schools and graduated from Estherville High School in 1941. He attended Estherville Junior College for one year. He farmed with his parents following his education.

On Feb. 13, 1955, he was united in marriage to Betty J. Moeller at Royal. They moved to Royal and farmed for two years. In 1958, they moved back to Estherville. Stan also was employed part-time at B & B Implement and the Emmet County ASCS office. He retired in 1986 and the couple moved into Estherville.

He was a lifelong member of the Estherville Lutheran church and was an active usher and communion assistant.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Estherivlle; daughter, Mrs. Terry (Connie) Brooks of Mecher-Dallas; son, Ronald of Estherville; four grandchildren; brother Marvin of rural Estherville; sister, Mrs. Rod (Norma) Tredway of Estherville; sisters-in-law Jean Myhre of Spirit Lake and Virginia Freeburg of Milford.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 27, 1999)
