Marvin Gordon Myhre, the son of Oscar and Agnes (Kittelson [Kittleson]) Myhre, was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Estherville.

He received his education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.

Following his honorable discharge from military service, Marv returned to Estherville. He devoted his entire life to his love of farming and lived and farmed at the same location until his death. In his leisure time, Marv enjoyed snowmobiling and driving his four-wheeler. In younger years, he enjoyed hosting softball tournaments with neighbors and family at the farm. Marv loved socializing and having coffee with neighbors and he especially enjoyed visiting his sister, Norma, and having coffee with her before her death. His nieces and nephews were his pride and joy and Marv would stop whatever he was doing to give them a ride on a tractor, combine or whatever piece of farm implement he was operating.

He was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church and American Legion Post 91 of Estherville.

Left to cherish Marv's memory are his nephews and nieces, Ron Myhre of Estherville; Connie Brooks of Melcher; John Myhre of Estherville; David Myhre of Brownsville, Ind.; LeAnn Densmore of Anapolis, Md.; Linda Eisenmenger of Windom, Minn.; and Kathy Culp of Lakeville, Minnesota.
