John Lodden, Carpenter, Dies at 63
John Lodden, 63, Estherville carpenter died at 12:00 p.m. yesterday at his home, 1--- North 13th [?] street.

Ill for the past year, he died after suffering his third stroke.

Mr. Lodden was born December 26, 1889 in – Norway, and received his education there. In 1904 he came to America and settled in Huxley, where he farmed for a time.

On Nov. 11, 1914, he married Georgia Barnes at Huxley and has worked as a carpenter most of the time since then. The couple moved to Estherville in 1918.

He was a member of the Estherville Lutheran church.

Surviving his death are his wife; a son, J.C. Lodden of Humboldt; three daughters, Beatrice and Joan at home and Mrs. Arnold (Georgia) Duer of Ringsted, a sister and brother in Norway. His parents preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Sternborg chapel and at 2 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran church, the Rev. L.G. Hinderaker officiating. Burial will be in the Estherville Lutheran cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 25, 1953)
