Mrs. Georgia Lodden Dies
Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Serena Lodden, 72, will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 at the Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. Roy Hendrickson officiating. Family services will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Lodden died unexpectedly of a heart attack Sunday [August 9, 1964] morning at 8:30 in her home. She had not been ill previous to the heart attack.

The former Georgia Serena Barnes was born Nov. 13, 1891, to Mr. and Mrs. George Barnes, near Huxley, Iowa. She received her education in Polk county schools.

On Nov. 11, 1914, she married John Lodden at Huxley. The couple lived for a while in Story City, and moved to Estherville in 1918, where Mr. Lodden was employed as a carpenter.

Mrs. Lodden was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

She is survived by three daughters, Joan Lodden, Estherville, Beatrice Lodden, Estherville, and Mrs. Arnold (Georgia) Duer, rural Armstrong; one son, J.C. Lodden, Humboldt, six sisters, Mrs. Jack Adams, Humboldt, Mrs. Jacob Lande, Wheaton, Minn., Mrs. C.T. Hovland, Keister, Minn., Mrs. A.J. Opdahl, Fulda, MInn., Mrs. John Peterson, Polk City, Iowa; three brothers, Pete and George of Huxley and Haldor of Cole Camp, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home from 6 p.m. Monday until noon Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 10, 1964)
