Estherville – Services for Mrs. Anne Joanne Johnson, 81, will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastors Kermit Rye and Michael Kroona officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Monday, Nov. 13, 1989, at Good Samaritan Center.

Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born Nov. 17, 1907 at Lakefield, Minn., the daughter of A.R. and Kristina (Morkrid) Kilen and attended and graduated from Lakefield High School, also attended Winona State Teachers college. On February 20, 1932 she married Joseph Johnson at Lakefield. Following marriage the couple farmed in the Lakefield area until 1949. They moved to Estherville in 1950. She was employed by Holy Family Hospital from 1960-72, and at Good Samaritan Center 1972-81. She became a resident there in 1982. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, E.L.C.W. and Sons of Norway.

Survivors include one son Sgt. Major David A. Johnson, Vicenza, Italy; two daughters: Mrs. Bryant (Joanne) Booth, Estherville and Mrs. Richard (Tippy) Luhman, Red Wing, Minn.; eight grandchildren; nine-great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; two brothers: Astor Kilen, Lakefield and Andres Kilen, Rochester.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband who died in 1967; one grandson; two brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 15, 1989)
