Estherville – Memorial service for Goldie Johnson of Estherville will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 10 at the Estherville Lutheran Church in Estherville with the Reverend Norris officiating. She died on Monday, March 7 at Holy Family Hospital in Estherville.

There will be no visitation due to cremation.

She was born on May 9, 1914 in Dickinson County, the daughter of William and Anna Morgan.

She attended Dickinson County schools and graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1932.

She married Elmer Johnson in Estherville in 1937.The couple lived in Estherville the rest of their lives. Elmer died in 1958. She worked a variety of jobs in Estherville including Golden Sun, Emmet County Recorder, Pantry Café and other restaurants until her retirement.

She is survived by one son, Lowell Johnson of Estherville; one granddaughter; one brother, Kenny Morgan of Des Moines and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, one brother and her husband, Elmer. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 9, 2000)
