Estherville – Funeral services for Francine C. [Carol] Jacobsen, 64, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Chapel in Estherville. She died on Tuesday, July 9, 2002 at her home in Estherville.

Visitation will be held from 4-9 p.m. on Friday, July 12 at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

Francine was born on April 7, 1938 in Estherville, the daughter of Francis Dahna and Marjorie (Wilhour) Gilbert. She received her education in the Estherville schools.

On April 15, 1955 she was united in marriage to John Jacobsen in Blue Earth, Minn. After their marriage the couple spent time in Texas, Kansas, Georgia, Alaska and California. The couple then returned to Estherville in 1987.

Francine loved to play cards, bingo and most important was spending time with her family.

Francine is survived by her husband, John of Estherville; son, Randy Jacobsen, wife, Diane of Estherville; six daughters, Jackie Ferguson of Ringsted; Christine Carlile, husband, Randy; Robin Jacobsen and Donell Weatherby all of Liberal, Kans.; Lorie Jacobsen of Estherville and Leslie Jacobsen of Bartow, Fla.; two sisters, Gloria Busch, husband, Dennis of Ringsted; Jeanette Getting, husband, Jerry of Youngstown, Ohio; one brother, Donald Dahna of Estherville; stepfather, Clarence Gilbert of Youngstown, Ohio; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

She has been preceded in death by her parents, son-in-laws, James Ferguson and Leon Weatherby. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, July 11, 2002)
