Estherville – Services for Jennie M. Hedrick, 89, of Estherville will be held Sat., Aug. 15 at 10:30 a.m. in the Estherville Lutheran Church in Estherville with the Pastor Arlyn Norris and Pastor Jane Johnston officiating. Interment will be at Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. She died Tues. Aug. 11, 1998 at Holy Family Health Services.

Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born Feb. 13, 1909, in Estherville, the daughter of Lars and Josefine (Endresen) Handeland.

She has lived all her life in Estherville. She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1927.

She was employed by the Hedrick family. On Aug. 8, 1959, she was united in marriage to Clifford Hedrick at Estherville. She was employed at Paris Cleaner’s in Estherville from 1940 until 1975. Mr. Hedrick died Oct. 18, 1977.

She has been a resident at the Good Samaritan Center since January 1994. She served on the resident council at the center.

She was an active member of Estherville Lutheran Church, L.D.R. and ELCW, and a member of the church choir. She taught Sunday School for 63 years.

Survivors include: a sister, Mrs. Arnt (Josephine) Espeset of Sioux Center; a brother, Loyd Handeland of Forest City; sisters-in-law; Ethel Handeland of Estherville and Edith Reed; and two step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, three sisters, and a step-daughter. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 13, 1998)
