Manghild Handeland
Estherville – Services for Manghild Othelia Handeland, 84, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Kermit Rye and Pastor Michael Kroona officiating. Interment wil be in the church cemetery. She died Sunday, Feb. 24, 1991 at Good Samaritan Center.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday.

She was born March 16, 1906 at Estherville, the daughter of Lars and Ellen (Endresen) Handeland and attended Estherville School graduating in 1923. She remained single. She lived all her life in Estherville where she was employed by Ehlers Store, McCleary’s Department Store and Paris Cleaners. She retired in 1975 and has been a resident at Good Samaritan Center since Jan. 30, 1991.

She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church; ELCW; Elizabeth Circle; taught Sunday School and KFJ.

Survivors include three brothers: Andrew and Birger Handeland, Estherville; Loyd Handeland, Forest City; three sisters: Mrs. Clara Beian, Burlington; Mrs. Jennie Hedrick and Mrs. Arnt Espeset, Estherville; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 27, 1991)
