Estherville – Services for Vera (Mrs. Cyril) E. Fischer, 79, of Estherville will be held Monday, October 29, at 10:30 a.m. in the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Michael Kroona and Pastor Kermit Rye officiating. Interment will be in the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. She died Friday, October 26, 1990 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born August 24, 1911 in Emmet County, the daughter of Nels O. and Ida (Luscombe) Anderson and attended rural Emmet County and Dolliver schools. She married Cyril E. Fischer, Sr. June 26, 1937 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. After her marriage the couple moved to their present farm in Emmet County in 1939. She has lived all her life in Emmet County.

She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, Mary Circle and E.L.C.W

She is survived by her husband Cyril, one son; Cyril E. Fischer, Jr. of Estherville, and four daughters: Mrs. Romain (Cheryl) Hanson, Estherville; Mrs. William (Carole) Jensen, Spanaway, Washington; Vera Ellen Reiter, Tacoma, Washington; and Valerie Curchoe, Estherville. Other survivors include nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren, one sister; Mae Larson, Seattle, Washington, and three brothers: Emmet Anderson, Truman, Minnesota; Ervin Anderson, Armstrong, Iowa; and Leslie Anderson, Dolliver, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, two granddaughters, one great granddaughter, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 27, 1990)
