E.M. Ellingson Dies; Rites Set Wednesday
Edward Mikkal Ellingson, 74, died at his home early Sunday morning, Oct. 11. He was born June 9, 1896, at Ottosen.

His parents were Mr. and Mrs. Rasmus Ellingson. He received his education in the Kossuth County rural schools and at Waldorf College, Forest City.

He was married Dec. 7, 1919, to Beulah Sandvik at the bride’s home in Lost Island Township. He farmed at Kiester and Moorhead, Minn., and also near Graettinger.

He was employed as an automotive mechanic for several years and for 10 years at Lyman Oil Co. as a salesman.

He moved to Estherville in 1937.

He has held office in both church and school organizations and was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church, American Legion and a member of Veterans of WWI.

Survivors include his wife, Beulah; two daughters, Mrs. A. B. (Vivian) Clausen, Flint, Mich., and Mrs. Clyne (Darlene) Olson, Minneapolis; two sons, Gordon, Watertown, S.D., and Edward, Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; five brothers, Nels, Forest City; Clarence, Mason City; Oscar, Buffalo Center; Joel, Minneapolis; and Burt, Sacramento, Calif.; three sisters, Mrs. Glen (Rose) Bakken, Kiester, Minn.; Mr. William (Cora) Martenson, Mason City; and Mrs. Adolph (Elaine) Dierson, Fairmont.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Engelstad officiating. Burial will be in the Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call anytime on Tuesday and until 11 a.m. on Wednesday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state.
