Clair John Eike, 69, Estherville, died March 8 at the Balmer Nursing Home. He had been ill for the past three years.

He was born Oct. 30, 1901, at Armstrong to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Eike. He attended school in Armstrong and the barber school at Minneapolis. On June 6, 1926, he was married to Alice Bortert at Armstrong. For 10 years he operated a barber shop in Estherville.

He is survived by his wife, Alice; four sons, Clair, Jr., Waynesville, Mo.; Dennis, Park Forest, Ill.; James, Anaheim, Calif.; Terrance, Estherville; two daughters, Mrs. Steve (Shirley) Rubis, Lakefield, Minn.; Mrs. Willard (Maree) Hansen, Cedar Falls, eight grandsons, nine granddaughters, two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer, St. Cloud, Minn.; Maxley, Arkansas; and two sisters, Mrs. Ripley Sartell, Sartell, Minn.; and Mrs. Clarence Kinnander, Armstrong.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Estherville Lutheran Church with the Rev. Stephen Englestad officiating. Burial will be in Estherville Lutheran Cemetery.
