Estherville – Services for Selma Brunsvold, 85, of Estherville will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastors Kermit Rye and Arlyn Norris officiating. Interment will be at the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery in Estherville. She died Tuesday, April 19, 1994, at the University of Minnesota Hospital in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be held at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home Thursday from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m.

She was born February 26, 1909 in Estherville, the daughter of John and Thea (Nelson) Munson and received her education at the Estherville Public Schools. After her graduation in 1927 from Estherville High School, she married Lloyd Brunsvold on June 27, 1937 at Estherville. She lived in Estherville all her life and was employed as Deputy County Auditor in Emmet County for several years. Following her marriage, the family continued to live in Estherville, where her husband served as Emmet County Treasurer from 1943-73. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church, the E.L.C.W. and was a past president.

She was the granddaughter of Lars Nelson Brujeld, who built and lived in a log cabin, which is still standing in the W.B. Mikelson park in Estherville.

She is survived by two sons, David Brunsvold of Estherville and Jon Brunsvold of Minneapolis; one daughter, Mrs. Gary (Mary) Ehlert of Roseville, Minn.; one brother, Leonard Munson of Estherville; one sister-in-law, Fern Clausen of Ringsted; three granddaughters; two nephews and one great granddaughter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd, and her parents. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 21, 1994)
