Heart Attack Proves Fatal On Saturday
Funeral services for Walter Brunsvold, 63, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Estherville Lutheran church. Family services will be held at 1:30 p.m.

Mr. Brunsvold died at his home at 8:30 p.m. Saturday [April 3, 1965] as a result of a heart attack. He had suffered a mild heart attack a week before.

Friends may call at the Reese Funeral Home today until noon Tuesday, when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until time of service.

Rev. Roy Hendrickson will officiate. Pallbearers will be Victor and Leslie Opheim, Orville Leen, Clinton Benson, Curt Hanson and Oscar Myhre Jr. Burial will be in the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery.

Walter Brunsvold was born Jan. 20, 1902, on a farm north of Superior. He lived on the same farm until his retirement in 1961 when he moved to Estherville. He received all of his schooling at the North Superior Consolidated school. He was married to Pauline Sorenson, Dec. 18, 1929, at the Estherville Lutheran Church parsonage.

He was a past president of the DEK board of directors and was a member of the board for many years. He was a member of the Dickinson County Board of Review for many years, and was also a past board member of the Superior Elevator.

For a number of years he served on the North Superior Consolidated school board. He was a life-time member of the Aberdeen Angus Association and was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Mr. Brunsvold is survived by his widow; one son, Walter, who lives on the home farm; two daughters, Mrs. Edward (Garnita) Bauer of Swea city, and Mrs. Arden (Shirley) Hakes of Jackson, Minn.; 14 grandchildren; two brothers, Albert of Spirit Lake, and Ben of Lakeland, Fla.; and one sister, Mrs. J.G. Brunsvold of Joice.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 5, 1965)
