Julius M. Anderson Dies at 75
Julius M. Anderson, 75, well-known retired farmer, died today at 9:30 a.m. at his home, 530 S. 8th St. Mr. Anderson had been bedfast for the past five years and three months after suffering a stroke. His death was attributed to a heart condition.

Born March 26, 1886, near Morris, Ill., he was the son of Andre and Kristinna Anderson. He started to school in Kendall County, Ill., but after his family moved to a farm in Emmet County, attended the schools of this county.

He was married Nov. 10, 1909 at Rolette, N.D. to Emilie Sevold. For four years after their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Anderson lived in North Dakota and then moved to Iowa where they farmed in the Wallingford and Estherville areas until moving to Estherville in 1947. After moving to town, Mr. Anderson was engaged for a time in the carpenter trade and later worked for a few years at the Estherville Laundry.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith when a boy and was a longtime member of Estherville Lutheran Church, having served as a deacon of the church and he also held other church offices.

Mr. Anderson is survived by his widow, Emilie; four daughters, Mildred; Mrs. Gilbert (Florence) Ness, Mrs. Laurits (Alva) Sunde, and Mrs. Leonard (Eunice) Petersen, all of Estherville; and six grandchildren.

Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. Anna Sevold, Story City; and a half-sister, Mrs. Melvin Dakin, Louisiana.

Preceding him in death were his parents, five brothers, two sisters, three half-brothers and two half-sisters.

Funeral service is to be Saturday at 3 p.m. in Estherville Lutheran Church, the Rev. Roy M. Hendrickson officiating. Burial will be in Estherville Lutheran Cemetery.

Friends may call at Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home from Friday forenoon until 11 a.m. Saturday. The body will lie in state at the church from 11:30 until time of service. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, January 25, 1962)
