Estherville – Services for Margie Clarice Anderson, 67, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Estherville Lutheran Church with Pastor Norman Omodt officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery. She died Monday, May 18, 1987 at Holy Family Hospital.
Friends may call at the Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Wednesday.
She was born Dec. 20, 1919 at Story City, the daughter of Andrew and Bertha (Sandvig) Anderson. She graduated from Estherville High School in 1937. Following high school she was employed as a clerk and deputy at the county auditor’s office from 1938 to 1947. She started working for the State Department of Soil Conservation when it opened its Emmet County office in 1947. She retired after 35 years as district clerk and treasurer. She never married. She enjoyed traveling and all kinds of craft items. She was a member of Estherville Lutheran Church, ELCW, Elizabeth Circle.
She is survived by one brother, Arnold Anderson, Estherville; one sister Mrs. Beatrice Cain, Spirit Lake; three nephews; two nieces; 10 great nieces and nephews; one great-great niece and a friend Ray Jacobson, Estherville.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 20, 1987)
