Anderson Rites Set Wednesday
Estherville – Mrs. Bertha Anna Anderson, 89, of Estherville, died Sunday, Aug. 25, at Holy Family Hospital. She had been hospitalized since suffering a stroke July 29.

Funeral services will be at the Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Stanley Eyberg officiating. Burial will be in the Estherville Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home from noon Tuesday until 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Mrs. Anderson was born July 24, 1885 in Randall, Iowa. Her parents were Ole and Anna Sandvig. She received her education in the Story City schools. She was baptized in the Randall Lutheran Church and confirmed at 15 at the Lutheran Church in Story City.

She married Andrew H. Anderson Feb. 14, 1907. They farmed in Polk County and Story County in Iowa and Martin County in Minnesota before moving to Estherville in 1920.

She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church and of the Ruth Circle.

She is survived by two daughters, Marjorie (Margie) Anderson of Estherville, and Mrs. Neal (Beatrice) Cain of Spirit Lake; two sons, Arnold and Orvan Anderson, both of Estherville; three granddaughters; three grandsons; seven great-granddaughters and four great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, August 26, 1974)
