Andrew H. Anderson, 76 Dies Today
Andrew Horace Anderson, 75, an Estherville resident since 1920, died at 6:30 a.m. today at Holy Family Hospital. He was hospitalized April 2 with a heart condition and pneumonia developed, causing his death.

The oldest of 13 children, Mr. Anderson was born March 3, 1882, in Polk County, His parents were Mr. and Mrs. John Anderson.

On Feb. 14, 1907, he was married to Bertha Anna Sandvig at Story City and the couple celebrated their 50th anniversary on Valentine’s Day by taking a week-long trip.

Survivors include two sons, two daughters, five grandchildren, six brothers and three sisters in addition to his widow. The sons are Arnold and Orvan of Estherville and the daughters are Marjorie at home here and Mrs. Beatrice Thomas of Spirit Lake.

The brothers and sisters are Henry, Chicago; Harold, Bridgman, Mich.; Alex, Seattle; Rudolph, Slater, Cedric and Eddie, both of Sheldahl; Mrs. Martin Sheldahl, Sheldahl, Mrs. Mabel Myers, Nevada; and Mrs. Alfred Selix, Winterset. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

Mr. Anderson farmed in Polk and Story Counties and Martin County, Minn. He moved to Estherville in 1920 and worked in a local garage, and also farmed an acreage.

Made an honorary life time member of the Elks Lodge, Mr. Anderson was custodian of the local lodge since May, 1942. He was a long time member of the Lutheran church at Slater.

Services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Sandin-Fuhrman Funeral Home with the Rev. Theodore Maakestad officiating. Burial will be in the Norwegian Lutheran [per cemetery records, Estherville Lutheran] Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from this evening until time of services.
