Mrs. Woods of Dunnell Dies at Age of 80

Mrs. H.W. Woods, 80 Dunnell, Minn. mother of Mrs. Walter Blagg passed away at her home last evening at 10:30.

She was born in Boon Co., Ill., Jan. 21, 1862. She was united in marriage to Herb W. Woods Sept. 12, 1883 and in 1889 they came to Estherville. They became members of the Estherville Methodist church in 1889. After living here for a few years they moved to a farm in Minnesota in 1918 where they have resided since.

During the past several years a grandson, Norman Woods has been doing the farm work. Mrs. Woods has been an invalid for the past four years and her aged husband, who is 83, has been caring for her. Cause of death was pneumonia.

She is survived by her husband and three daughters, Mrs. Walter Blagg of Estherville; Mrs. Willie Walkeer of Medford, Ore., and Mrs. M.H. Silcox of Dunnell, Minn. Also one son, Arthur Woods of Wolverton, Minn., thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Monday afternoon with a short service conducted at the home, which is four and a half miles southwest of Dunnell, and at 2:30 in the Estherville Methodist church with the Rev. F. W. Ortmeyer officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 24, 1942)
