Bird Trimble of Estherville Dies at Cheyenne, Wyo.
Miss Bird Trimble of Estherville died Saturday at Cheyenne, Wyo., at the home of her brother, Ben Trimble, it was learned in Estherville today by friends. Miss Trimble had been ill from the flu.Miss Trimble is survived by her brother and two sisters, Mrs. Dove Thomas and Mrs. Rose Fitzpatrick [Fitzgerald] both living at Cedar Rapids.
It is expected that the body will be brought back to Estherville for burial. Miss Trimble left here last October to live with her brother in Wyoming.
Miss Trimble was born near Washington in 1870 and was graduated from the Ainsworth high school in 1888. Later she attended a Bible school in Chicago. For a number of years Miss Trimble taught school in Estherville and for a short time was principal of one of the Estherville grade schools. She also attended the A.N. Palmer Business college in Cedar Rapids.
Miss Trimble, fond of travelling, toured Europe in the year 1910. Then she took a position with the A.N. Palmer company in Chicago and helped to introduce the Palmer method of writing in schools and all over the United States.
She made her home with her mother, Mrs. Margaret Trimble, at 1009 4th Ave. A. in Estherville until her mother’s death. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, February 14, 1944)

Miss Bird Trimble Passes at Home of Brother In Cheyenne
Word from Mrs. Dot Taylor of Hayfield, a niece, informed Estherville friends of the death Saturday, Feb. 12, of Miss Bird Trimble, retired school teacher. Miss Trimble had for the past several months been making her home with her brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Trimble at Cheyenne because of frail health. Death came during an attack of the flu.Born near Washington in 1870, Miss Trimble graduated from Ainsworth high school in 1888 and attended Bible school in Chicago. She came to Emmet county with her parents, early settlers in this community and had continued to make Estherville her home until leaving for the west. For many years she was a teacher in Estherville and at other places. After touring Europe in 1910 she took a position with the Palmer Penmanship school of Chicago and travelled in all parts of the country giving instructions to teachers in the Palmer method of writing.
Two sisters, Mrs. Dove Thomas of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Rose Fitzgerald of Ainsworth, and the brother, Ben, survive. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, February 17, 1944)
