Graettinger – Services for Mrs. Jacob H. (Mae) Zitterich, 76, Graettinger, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the United Methodist Church in Graettinger, with the Rev. George Brighton officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville. She died Monday, May 16, 1983 in the Palo Alto County Hospital in Emmetsburg.

Friends may call at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Graettinger after 3 p.m. Wednesday.

Mae [Elsie Mae] Huntley was born July 15, 1906 in Carroll County, Iowa, the daughter of Alonzo and Bessie Jane Huntley. She attended school in Carroll County before moving to Graettinger with her parents where she attended the High Lake Township school. On Dec. 21, 1927, she was united in marriage with Jacob H. Zitterich in Estherville. The couple farmed in the Graettinger area until his death in 1960. Mrs. Zitterich was a member of the United Methodist Church, Methodist Women Association and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (LaDonna) Fitzpatrick, Spencer, Mrs. Lowell (Sally) Nyborg, Ruthven; two sons, Robert and Jerry, Graettinger; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ben Huntley, Dolliver and Harold Huntley, Ceylon.

She was preceded in death by her husband, two sons, parents, one sister and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 18, 1983)
