Mrs. T.O. Thompson Rites Set
Funeral services for Mrs. Thomas O. (Rachel) Thompson, who died Friday at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Sioux City, after being hospitalized following a broken leg, will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the First Presbyterian Church in Estherville, the Rev. James K. Lyon officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call at Sternborg-Reese Funeral Home from today until 10 a.m. Tuesday, at which time the body will be moved to lie in state at the church. A memorial has been established.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Lee, Ill., on Nov. 11, 1873, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lars Solmonson. She was educated in Illinois schools. She moved to Estherville with her family as a young girl. On Oct. 31, 1895, she was married to Thomas O. Thompson at Estherville. The couple lived their married life in Estherville.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Betsy Johnson of Lee, Ill., and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband on March 2, her parents and three brothers.

Pallbearers will be Harold Howard, Delbert Hinsch, Vern Von Hagen and A.B. Rosenberger. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Juhl, Francis Kennedy, James Darling, S.T. Egertson, Robert Knight and F.T. Shadle. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, April 10, 1961)
