Funeral for Mrs. L.G. Thompson Set
Last rites for Mrs. L.G. Thompson, 86, resident of Estherville for the past 58 years, are to be Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock at Fuhrman Funeral Home, the Rev. Jack M. Wolter officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson died yesterday at 9:55 a.m. at Holy Family Hospital where she had been a patient for two and a half weeks. Her death was attributed to complications resulting from a broken hip which she suffered Feb. 26 in a fall at her home.

Mrs. Thompson had lived in Estherville since 1905 when she and the late Mr. Thompson established their home here. Mr. Thompson died June 27, 1951.

The former Florence Julia Thompson was born April 20, 1876 at Elizabeth, Ill., the daughter of John B. and Mary Williams. She received part of her schooling at Elizabeth and the rest at West Bend where she moved with her family while a young girl.

She was married to Leonard G. Thompson Nov. 24, 1892 at Emmetsburg. Mr. and Mrs. Thompson observed their golden wedding anniversary in 1942.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.

Surviving Mrs. Thompson’s death are a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Hazel) Miller of Algona; two sons, John of Tallahassee, Fla., and George W. of Estherville; four granddaughters, 19 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Arthur J. Williams of Emmetsburg and Gilbert E. Williams of Compton, Calif.

Preceding her in death were her husband, two daughters and one brother.

Friends may call at Fuhrman Funeral Home all day Friday and until time of services Saturday.

Active pallbearers are to be Romaine E. Sondrol, Deemer Lee, Joseph L. Hoye, C.W. Robinson, N.K. Brown and Leo Fitzgibbons.

Honorary pallbearers are Judge G.W. Stillman of Algona, S.T. Egertson, Leo Sanders, Clyde Sanborn, E.C. McMahon and Dr. G.E. Tomhave.
