Brother-in-law of Welshes Dies of Heart Attack
Samuel [Soren Nelson] Skow, 70, of Lamberton, Minn., brother-in-law of Anne and James Welsh of the Jack Creek area, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday of a heart attack, according to word received by the Welshes.

Funeral services are to be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist Church in Lamberton with burial to be at Oak Hill cemetery here at approximately 4 p.m.

Mr. Skow was born May 7, 1888 on a farm near Emmetsburg, [per WWI draft record, Marathon, IA] the son of Mr. and Mrs. Nels Skow. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. For 31 years he operated the Skow Motor Co. at Lamberton, selling out 10 years ago. He also was a bank director there.

He is survived by his widow, the former Isabella Welsh; three brothers, Hans of Lake Park, James of Aberdeen, S.D., and Alfred, of Minneapolis; one sister, Mrs. Stump of Madison, Wis.; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, William and John, and one sister, Mrs. Len (Ann) Rogers, all of California. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, October 31, 1958)
