Florence Smith
Estherville – Services for Florence B. Smith, 88, Estherville will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Henry and Olson chapel with the Rev. Robert Kunz officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery. He [She] died Friday, July 20, 1984 at the Good Samaritan Home.

Visitation was from 7-9 p.m. Sunday.

Smith was born Feb. 24, 1896 at Burt to Frank and Minnie (Green [Hayden]) Smith. She received her education in the Bancroft Public School and attended Brown’s Business College in Bloomington, Ill. On May 5, 1928 she married Louis A. Smith at Spirit Lake. She worked in several offices doing clerical and secretarial work, most recently in the County Engineer’s Office at the Emmet County Courthouse from 1949-1958. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include one sister, Mrs. Neva Ditsworth, Estherville; nieces, Mrs. Paul (Viviette) Barnett, Ruthven; Mrs. Phil (Nancy) Nunn, Nashwauk, Minn., Mrs. Franc (Donna) Holland, Edmunds, Wash.; nephews, Richard Ditsworth, Edmunds, Wash., and Jack Hayden, Moline, Ill.
