Estherville – Services for Mrs. Bernard (Clara) Sampson, 92, are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Henry and Olson Funeral Home with Pastor Stan Eyberg officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. She died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital.

Clara Marthine Sampson was born Jan. 5, 1892 at Hayfield, the daughter of Ole and Martha (Hanson) Hansen and attended the Hayfield schools. On April 20, 1910, she was united in marriage with Bernard Sampson at Oskaloosa, Iowa. They farmed in the Harris and Estherville areas. She has resided at the Good Samaritan Center for the past 12 ½ years. She was a member of the Estherville Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three sons: Marion Sampson, Trimont, Minn., Ernest LeRoy Sampson, Des Moines and Harold Sampson, Estherville; two daughters: Mrs. Robert (Mildred) Fox, Sr. and Mrs. William (Betty) Wellnitz, Estherville; 20 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Beatta Frances, Minneapolis, Minn. and Mrs. Luella Bensen, Oakland, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband; three sons; two daughters; her parents; three brothers and one sister. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 24, 1984)
