Estherville – Services for Mary Catherine Peterson, 75, Estherville, will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Christian Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Robert Kunz officiating. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery. She died Thursday, Nov. 22, 1984 at Holy Family Hospital, Estherville.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. Sunday at the Fuhrman Funeral Home in Estherville.

She was born Aug. 23, 1909 in Estherville to Joe and Else (Thomsen) Peterson [Petersen]. She received her education in the Estherville schools, graduating from Estherville High School in 1927. She was employed at John Hansen Tailor Shop for several years and by Bagan and Sons Clothing for 41 years before retiring. She was a member of the Christian Church in Estherville and was a charter member of wa-tan-ye, past president and a member of the Good Samaritan Auxiliary.

Survivors include five sisters, Mrs. John (Helga) Doolittle of Mountain Home, Ark.; Marina Peterson [Petersen] of Estherville; Mrs. Patricia Cornwall of Spirit Lake; and Mrs. Peder (Esther) Loe of Estherville; [and one brother, William] Peterson [Petersen] of Williford, Ark.; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, November 24, 1984)
