Samuel Rugtiv Will Be Buried Here Saturday
The body of Samuel Rugtiv, former Estherville boy who died in Vallejo, Calif., last Friday [May 6, 1938], will arrive here Saturday morning.

Funeral services will be held here at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Methodist church, with the Rev. F.W. Ortmeyer in charge. Members of Samuel’s Sunday school class will be pallbearers.

Emmet Robb of Berkley, Calif., and Walter Robb of Watford City, N.D. will be here for the funeral. Emmet Robb will come here with Mrs. Olive Miller, the boy’s mother, from Vallejo. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, May 12, 1938)

Body of Samuel Rugtiv Will Be Laid to Rest in Oak Hill Cemetery
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at two o’clock from the M.E. church for Samuel Rugtiv, 18, youngest son of Mrs. Olive Miller. Rev. Fred Ortmeyer will be in charge. Interment will be made in Oak Hill cemetery. Pall bearers will be members of the Methodist church which he attended while living in Estherville.

Sammie died last Thursday [May 7, 1938] at Vallejo, Calif., after a short illness. He had suffered since a small child with a weak heart.

Emmet Robb, brother of Mrs. Miller, of Oakland, Calif., will accompany his sister and the remains to Estherville arriving here Saturday morning. Walter Robb of Watford City, N. Dak., another brother will also be here for the services.

Three brothers of the deceased lad, Robb, John and Rihcard of Vallejo, will not return for the funeral. Mrs. Miller expects to remain in Estherville. (Vindicator and Republican, Estherville, IA, May 12, 1938)

Funeral Rites for Samuel Rugtiv Held Here Saturday
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon at the M.E. church for Samuel Rugtiv, 18, youngest son of Mrs. Olive Miller, who had died May 7, at their home in Vallejo, Calif.

Rev. Fred Ortmeyer pastor of the church was in charge and musical numbers were given by a quartette comprised of Msdames Dan Howard, D.B. Morris, Pat Mauck and Geo. Kibbee with Mrs. Chris Gronstal at the organ.

Pall bearers were school friends of Sammie when he lived here, Dean Osmundson, Max Mauck, John Misener, Jack Sanders, Robert Crim and John Callendar, Cedar Rapids.

Interment was made in Oak Hill cemetery.

Relatives from out of town attending the services were Mrs. H.H. Kendall and daughter, Lincoln, Neb., Mr. and Mrs. Carl Egbert, and Mrs. Eudora Robb, Iowa Falls; Walter Robb, Watford City, N.D.; Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Rugtiv, Waterloo; and Mrs. Sim Stedman, Emmetsburg.
